EL DORADO HILLS, Calif., Jan. 23, 2008 — Laru Corporation, a provider of ACH risk and compliance management software applications for financial institutions, announced Ben Waidhofer, chief executive officer, will be speaking in a panel entitled “The Changing Landscape of ACH Risk Management” at the 2008 BAI TransPay Conference and Expo.
The moderator of the panel is Terri Pelle Sands, managing director of Payments Information Circle. Joining Waidhofer are fellow panelists Chris Olson, chief operating officer of Fremont Bank; and Liz Milor, bank information technology analyst at Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
“Risk exposure from ACH origination activity is growing as ACH transaction volume increases,” said Waidhofer. “The panel will educate attendees on how governing bodies of ACH have updated their rules to encourage better risk management. I look forward to sharing my knowledge of ACH risk management and compliance best practices. We have applied business intelligence to manage the high ACH volume, allowing customers to establish optimal defined business rules for ACH transaction models.
The session covers recent and anticipated risk management changes to NACHA rules and regulations, as well as OCC guidance on systems and controls necessary for effective risk management. Attendees will also learn what financial institutions need to do to identify, resolve and prevent ACH fraud and compliance issues. A case study will be presented to attendees to illustrate the best practices of a successfully implemented ACH risk and compliance monitoring solution.
The 2008 BAI TransPay Conference and Expo takes place February 5-7, 2008 in Dallas, Texas. The session will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 2:30 p.m.
